Looking For Volunteers

Citizens of Heber City have the opportunity to volunteer their efforts with the Airport Advisory Board, the Animal Services Board, the Board of Adjustment, and the Planning Commission. If interested in these positions, please email the City Recorder and attach your resume and a letter of interest.

Airport Advisory Board

The Airport Advisory Board reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council on a variety of airport issues. The board meets at the City Administrative Offices at 4 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month. Airport Board members serve four-year terms. Voting membership is comprised of three permanent Heber City residents and two at-large Wasatch County residents.

Board of Adjustment

The Board of Adjustment acts in a quasi-judicial manner in hearing appeals from the city's land use decisions and hears and decides requests for variances from the terms of land use ordinances. The board meets at the City Administrative Offices at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month and on an as-needed basis. The term of office for a Board of Adjustment member is five years. Members must reside in Heber City.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding land use issues such as the City General Plan, zoning, and subdivisions, and decisions on commercial or industrial developments and conditional uses. The commission consists of seven voting members plus two alternates and meets at the City Administrative Offices on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 6 p.m. The term of office for a Planning Commission member is six years; alternates serve two-year terms. Members must be residents of Heber City.
