Detective Sergeant Jim Moore was born in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah at the age of ten. He started his law enforcement career in 2000 when he became a full time police officer for the Heber City Police Department. He spent the first three years as a patrol officer and then became a detective on the narcotics task force. In 2006 he was promoted to Sergeant and has served in that rank ever since. Detective Sergeant Moore serves as the supervisor of the Wasatch Heber Joint Investigations Unit. He is also a defensive tactics and physical fitness instructor.
Detective Sergeant Moore enjoys the outdoors, motorcycles, four wheeling, and traveling. Sergeant Moore is a competitive weightlifter, and was the 2nd place finisher in the 2010 Master National Championships and was the 2013 Pan American Masters Champion.
